*Reinstatement of Wage Board -AINEF*
Vijayawada
The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF) at Radhey Guest House in Kolkata. Relating the meeting resolutions released by Ch. Purnachandra Rao, Senior Vice President, V Balahopalan, General Secretary of AINEF here today.
The Central Government abolished the Working Journalists Act, rendering the Wage Board recommendations ineffective. While a Wage Committee was introduced, it has not yet materialised. AINEF has consistently advocated for the Wage Board’s reinstatement. A strong action plan, in collaboration with other like-minded unions in national level was emphasised. The plan will prioritise nationwide activities with a focus on Delhi.
All State unions are required to develop action plans and start the movement of agitation.
National Pension (NP): The Central Government’s proposed National Pension Scheme details were not yet available. State unions were encouraged to consider implementing their own state-specific pension plans, similar to the existing schemes in Kerala and what Assam is trying to implement there too, Purnachandra Rao, Balagopalan added.
